Summer Books
Free books for children participating in local summer food services programs and summer school.
Midcoast Literacy gives free books to children so they can:
- pick books they want to read
- own their own books
- keep reading when they are not in school
- share books with family members
- learn about new and interesting things
- enjoy good stories
Our staff member takes books to participating summer food services programs and summer school sites once or twice a week. She invites children to browse through the wide selection of titles and select one or two to take home. Children can take home a free book each time they attend a Summer Books session.
