The Volunteer Tutor Applicant is considering volunteering for the Read Together Program of Midcoast Literacy in Bath, Maine. Read Together offers free, one-on-one tutoring services to students, 6 to 14 years of age, who are struggling to read and write at grade level. This is a supplemental program conducted outside of school, staffed by volunteers dedicated to improving the lives and literacy of young people. Volunteer tutors will commit to work twice a week for an hour for a minimum of one year with their students. Volunteers are expected to be respectful, organized, dependable, kind, patient, and flexible.

Our students may also be lacking literacy resources at home, living in poverty, and/or witnessing stressful family relationships.
