Readers Theater

Introducing families to wonderful stories through fun, live performances of childrens' books by local actors.

Readers Theater is a style of theater that blends the reading aloud of a book and theatrical performance before a live audience. The actors simultaneously narrate the story and bring added life to the characters through voice, expression, and movement. Midcoast Literacy Readers Theater performances are our way of sharing a love of reading and great childrens' books in a unique format with local kids and families.

2020 Readers Theater
Saturday, December 12th, 7:00pm

**Note: The 2020 Readers Theater performance will be held online via Zoom due to the pandemic. We look forward to holding a traditional live performance in a theater next year, and hope you will attend that one, too.**

Featured Books:

Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes
Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree by Robert Barry

The online performance on December 12th is free, but viewers must register in advance, as indicated below.

Donations to Midcoast Literacy in support of this event can be made now or during the show. The funds will be used to support Midcoast Literacy's Read Together program, which provides free, one-on-one tutoring for students, ages 6-14, who are reading below grade level (learn more about Read Together).
